Spiritual Direction and Mentorship
Guidance and accompaniment for growing in faith and unity of life.
At Westfield, spiritual direction and mentorship are offered as complementary forms of guidance to support women in their desire to grow in faith, virtue, and interior freedom. Both are rooted in the conviction that God calls each person to holiness in the midst of ordinary life and that no one is meant to walk that path alone.
These opportunities provide steady accompaniment, helping women learn to recognize God’s action in their lives and respond with greater clarity, peace, and confidence.
Spiritual direction is a personal conversation focused on your relationship with God and the growth of your interior life. It is not counseling or therapy, nor is it about being told what to do. Instead, it is a space for prayerful reflection, discernment, and spiritual growth guided by the wisdom of the Church.
At Westfield, spiritual direction is offered by priests of Opus Dei and is available during recollections. Confession is also available at these times, providing an opportunity to receive the sacraments and experience God’s mercy and grace in a profound way.
Through spiritual direction, women are helped to deepen their prayer life, grow in virtue, and learn how to live their faith with unity of life in daily work, relationships, and responsibilities.
Mentorship is offered through lay members of Opus Dei who are formed to accompany others with discretion, charity, and practical wisdom. These relationships provide guidance and support for integrating faith into everyday life, particularly in professional, personal, and vocational contexts.
Mentorship is relational and ongoing. It creates space to speak honestly about challenges, goals, and growth, while receiving encouragement rooted in lived experience. Mentors do not replace spiritual direction or the sacraments, but support women in applying what they are learning to real life.
Through mentorship, women are encouraged to grow steadily in virtue, responsibility, and freedom, learning how to live their faith naturally and confidently in the middle of the world.
Both spiritual direction and mentorship reflect the spirituality of Opus Dei, which emphasizes unity of life. Faith is not lived apart from work, friendships, or daily obligations, but through them.
These forms of accompaniment help women discover how ordinary circumstances can become places of encounter with God and how daily effort, professional excellence, and charity toward others are paths to holiness.
Spiritual direction and mentorship are not reserved for those who feel advanced in their faith. They are offered to anyone who desires to grow in friendship with God and live with greater intention and coherence.
Whether you are seeking clarity, encouragement, or guidance, these opportunities provide a steady and respectful accompaniment along the way.
